Traffic lights and road signs are dangerous Posted on November 14, 2006 by Robin Reply In Drachten they’ve gotten rid of almost all traffic lights and road signs, leading to the death toll going to 0 over the past 7 years (where they used to have 1 death per 3 years), no more traffic jams and much faster goings from a to b. Earthship Posted on August 1, 2006 by Robin These structures are built with fully recycled materials and make you almost totally independant from the city in that you don’t need heating, sewage or other facilities. The walls are made of filled tyres creating the brickwork. As each area where the earthship is placed is unique, so is the design and as the materials are recycled and cheap, you have a custom built design to suit your needs at a fraction of the price of a ‘normal’ house. Sounds like an ecologically sound and attractive idea. Am I turning into a tree hugger?

Dutch courts respect computer privacy Posted on July 14, 2006 by Robin To my surprise, Dutch higher courts dispute the right of music companies (in NL BREIN is the equivalent of RIAA) to obtain IP addresses from your ISP, hack your computer, scan your harddrive and then link it to an individual. BREIN comes out stinky in the court’s verdict as breaching privacy laws. Hurray for freedom!
